You will have heard I am sure about the death of Mrs. Patricia O’ Donoghue, recently retired principal of Belgrove Junior Girls’ School. Her death so soon after her retirement is an enormous loss to her family but also to her colleagues in her school with whom I know she had been making plans for a very active retirement. Our thoughts are with her family and colleagues and I would ask you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The junior infant parent teacher meetings are now finished and I want to thank the teachers for their work on these and also our parents for arriving punctually and keeping to time.
Yoga continues with Karen Hazzard from The Yoga Factory for boys from 1st and 2nd classes.
GAA with Ger Dinan runs from January to May for boys from Junior infants and 1st classes.
Irish dancing with Rhona Lucas will commence next Monday 5th February in preparation for our Lá Glas and Céilí on March 16th -this is one of the most enjoyable events of the year and a great Belgrove tradition.
Marguerite will shortly be sending home the Trócaire boxes in preparation for Lent. I commend the initiatives which Trócaire is leading- your contribution and those of the boys make an enormous difference on the ground and the very act of giving is an opportunity for our children to reflect on the things they have and on the lives of children who have very little.
