Lá breá brothallach a bhí ann…….

THank God for the fine weather! A few news items-

First Confession

  • well done on Ms. Sórcha O’ Grady’s boys who yesterday received their second sacrament of first penance. In school, one of the tasks an old teacher used to set us was – how can a person receive all seven sacraments and still be alive…..
  • MS. Michelle O’ Grady’s class received today and Ms. McCaughey’s boys go to the church on this Friday.
  • the new format seems to be working very well- certainly the class-by-class system engenders a better esprit de corps I think as well as a more reflective,  prayerful and reverential atmosphere in the Church.
  • I do acknowlesge that the logistics of an afternoon event can be a problem for many parents but your support is appreciated and feedback so far is very good.

Table quiz in aid of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind

  • I have been asked by Oonagh & Dermot McEvilly to say that they are running a table quiz for this charity on Friday 1st March at 9 in Grainger’s Pub on the Malahide Road (near Copeland Ave junction). Cost is €40 for a table of four. Guide and assistance dogs are as likely to be used now as an aid to people with autism as they are to be used by a person who has lost their sight. THis event deserves support as the cost associated with training these dogs is very high.
