There are some basic functions which most of us do not remember doing for the first time. Peeling your own potato…… various self-care functions……buttoning your shirt…… tying your tie……and…. tying your laces.
Of all these, it is the laces bit which gives teachers the greatest cause for concern. As I have said previously untied laces are a trip hazard in a school where we strive to be active and staff simply do not have the time to tie multiple pairs of laces after yoga and other lessons where shoes are removed.
It is not usually our job to give homework to our Parents…… but there is a first time for everything!
