Stanley Milgram

Before ethics in research on subjects made life very difficult, an American psychologist named Stanley Milgram carried out a famous – and judged by the standards of today infamous- set of experiments to ascertain whether people will do bad things when told to by others (Milgram’s experiment well worth a view on you tube ). This was prompted by the Nuremburg defence used by Nazi war criminals on trial for their lives after the war. They said in their defence that they were soldiers carrying out orders. Which brings me nicely to the highly entertaining spectacle witnessed by those attending the Rory Geraghty benefit quiz last night in Clontarf RFC. I danced ONLY because I was asked to do So!!!!!!

Seriously, a great evening was had by all. To each person or business who donated a spot prize, to the team who organised the event, corrected answers, set questions, bought auction items- a very big thank you on behalf of Jackie & Brian. Our hosts Clontarf Rugby club and staff were so accommodating and hospitable and we had the run of the place. Finally  a humble thank you to Jackie for her inspired and inspiring words. The response of everyone there spoke volumes about your strength and the support you are getting from the School Community.
